Khorfakkan Container Terminal and Momentum Logistics also recognised
Gulftainer was recently handed the 2018 prestigious Gold Award by the UK-based RoSPA Award Scheme. The UAE-based world’s largest privately owned independent port operator and logistics company was recognised for its commitment to employee health and safety standards at its flagship gateway terminal, Sharjah Container Terminal (SCT), in Port Khalid.
“Gulftainer is delighted to be recognised for its health and safety practices at SCT. We take immense pride in putting in place the right checks and balances to ensure the safety of our employees,” stated Peter Richards, Group CEO of Gulftainer.
“The RoSPA Awards are the most highly-respected in their class in the health and safety arena, drawing nearly 2,000 entrants every year,” commented Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of qualifications, awards and events.
In 2018, SCT marked the highest productivity levels since its inception. SCT also registered a high volume of demand from customers for its new advanced Shed 3 warehouse facility in Port Khalid.
Gulftainer also received the Silver Safety award by RoSPA for its Khorfakkan Container Terminal. Similarly, Momentum Logistics, the logistics division of Gulftainer, was presented with the Silver Safety award and Silver in Fleet Safety by RoSPA.
