SpiceJet’s projected plan includes making Ras Al Khaimah as their first international hub
Ras Al Khaimah International Airport (RKT) has expanded its route network and welcomed the arrival of their new airline partner SpiceJet to connect their new service from the Indian capital New Delhi to Ras Al Khaimah effective December 2019.
The announcement was made at the press event in the presence of Sheikh Khalid Bin Saud Al Qasimi, Vice Chairman, Investment and Development Office, Government of Ras Al Khaimah, Sheikh Omar Bin Saqr Bin Khaled Al Qasimi, Board Member of Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, Executive Manager of Investment & Development Office; Sanjay Khanna, Chief Executive Officer, Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, Ajay Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, during a recent official signing ceremony held at the Waldorf Astoria in Ras Al Khaimah.
Commencing from December 2019, SpiceJet, India’s second biggest airline will operate regular direct flights between Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi and Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, Ras Al Khaimah. The route will be operated five times a week, targeted to gradually increase the frequency.

Key destination

There is a five-point strategy of this partnership with SpiceJet that includes connecting passengers embarking from India for various airports in the UAE; connecting Ras Al Khaimah and UAE to cities in India via SpiceJet’s extensive domestic network; from India to Europe; from UAE to Europe and from Ras Al Khaimah to SpiceJet’s international connecting points like Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Afghanistan, and other South East Asian destinations.
“This strategic implementation will lead to a significant boost in the number of passengers travelling to Ras Al Khaimah thereby benefitting numerous local businesses.
