Construct the first marine waste treatment facility in the region to produce alternative raw materials
Bee’ah, the Middle East’s sustainability pioneer, and Polyeco, a European environmental protection company, have built an advanced Alternative Raw Material Facility in Bee’ah’s Waste Management Complex in the Al Sa’jaa district of Sharjah.
Both entities are also joining efforts to explore future collaboration in waste management solutions for marine pollution as per the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL), of which the UAE is a signatory.
The announcement marks a major milestone in both entities’ efforts to protect our oceans, while developing the UAE’s circular economy through specialized waste treatment and recycling capabilities.
“We have already established a reputation for waste management on land and through this partnership we hope to expand our already extensive portfolio of zero-waste solutions in the open waters,” remarked Khaled Al Huraimel, Group CEO, Bee’ah.
“This partnership will lay the foundations of Polyeco’s expansion in the Middle East, and introduce our exceptional solutions and sophisticated technology,” commented Athanasios Polychronopoulos, Executive Chairman of Global Operations, Polyeco.
