SEC acquired certification for 50 different services within the company’s IT and Communication systems
Intertek has awarded the ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 certification for Information Technology Service Management and ISO/IEC 27001:2013 for Information Security Management to the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), the largest utility company in the Middle East and North Africa.
SEC acquired certification for 50 different services within the company’s Information Technology and Communication systems. The new certifications demonstrate that SEC serves its customers through establishing international communication centres supported by new technologies providing communication platforms and services that comply with global standards.
Using the ISO 27001 family of standards helps organizations manage the security of assets such as financial information, intellectual property, employee details or information entrusted to the company by third parties.
Samir Ahmed, Director of Business Assurance, Intertek Gulf & Pakistan Region, recently presented the award to Sulayman A. AlSugair, Executive Director, IT & Communication during a special ceremony held at SEC headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
“Attaining these certifications from Intertek is a testament to our relentless drive to implementing best-in-class management system practices while ensuring that customers get consistent high-quality services,” commented AlSugair.
“SEC’s journey to certification shows real commitment to be a world-class service provider,” commented Ahmed.
