Deal to provide Consignment Certification Programme for food and food contact materials
Intertek has recently been awarded a contract by the National Food Safety Authority (NFSA) in Egypt to provide certification services in support of its Food Consignment Certification for exports of food and food contact materials to the country.
Food products and food contact materials are verified in the respective exporting countries to ensure they comply with Egyptian Food law and regulation, assuring Egypt’s citizens of the quality and safety of imported food.
“Having introduced the very first programme of this type, our Conformity Assessment Programme, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia more than 20 years ago, Intertek has the experience and expertise to provide the NFSA, and exporters to Egypt, with a rapid and excellent service,” stated Thomas Kordick, Global Business Line Leader, Government and Trade Services, Intertek.
Exporters of food products and food contact materials to Egypt are required to provide a Certificate of Inspection to achieve fast track Customs clearance. This certificate can be obtained from Intertek.
Intertek has been pioneering the development of national food safety programmes across the world, having introduced the very first one over 20 years ago. With a network of more than 1,000 laboratories and offices and over 46,000 people in more than 100 countries, Intertek delivers innovative and bespoke Assurance, Testing, Inspection and Certification solutions for its customers’ operations and supply chains.
