Plans to merge will merge ISMEA with Eastern Europe operations
UPS has closed its district office in Dubai for the India Subcontinent, Middle East and Africa (ISMEA) regions as part of a restructuring plan according to a local UAE media report by the ITP Publishing Group.
The move lays off 100 and 120 employees who were given their notices in early July. UPS plans to merge their ISMEA operations with their Eastern Europe headquarters in Prague, Czech Republic.
However, the second UPS office in the UAE, which handles pickup and delivery, will remain open.
