Reduced waste to landfill by 70%, with 90% of waste recycled
Signify, one of the world’s leading lighting companies, has made significant progress in 2019 toward its sustainability targets set for 2020 as part of its ‘Brighter Lives, Better World’ sustainability programme.
The company further reduced their carbon footprint by 9.5% and increased the number of markets where it achieved carbon neutrality to 15 out of 19, bringing Signify closer to achieving company-wide carbon neutrality this year.
In 2019, Signify generated 82.5% of revenues from energy efficient products, systems and services, ahead of its 2020 target of 80%. The company also achieved carbon neutrality in several markets across the globe.

Sustainability is not only at the heart of our purpose, it is something which has become very actionable which everyone helps to drive,” said Nicola Kimm, Head of Sustainability, Signify, in shared comments.
The company has delivered more than 2.3bn LED lamps and luminaires since joining the Global Lighting Challenge in 2015, avoiding the release of over 56 megatonnes of CO2 emissions, equivalent to 58 medium-sized coal-fired power stations or the emissions from 21mn cars
It has also generated 82.5% of revenues from energy efficient products, systems and services, reduced global carbon footprint by 9.5% and increased share of renewable electricity to 94%.
