Company has delivered humanitarian aid worth US$ 2mn in global logistics services
The UPS Foundation is supporting UNICEF in delivering life-saving nutrition supplies to Syria. The supplies will reach mothers and young children in areas affected by the earthquakes that struck Syria and Türkiye in early February 2023.
The deadly earthquakes have taken a devastating toll on communities, disrupting essential health services and exacerbating food insecurity.
With these ongoing humanitarian needs, UPS has stepped up to deliver life-saving nutrition supplies free of charge. For the duration of six weeks, these supplies will help to improve the nutrition of 2,100 children affected by the earthquakes, the company said in a press notification.
Since the devastating earthquakes that struck Syria and Türkiye, UPS has delivered humanitarian aid totaling nearly US$ 2mn in global logistics services to its partners, aiding over 800,000 earthquake survivors.
“We’re proud to mobilize our logistics network and expertise to get help to where it’s needed most. Thanks to our dedicated UPSers and UNICEF, we’re ensuring these essential supplies reach the mothers and children facing daily challenges,” stated Nikki Clifton, President, Social Impact and The UPS Foundation.
