LogisticsGulf.com (LG): What, in your opinion, sets John Crane apart? What are your core brand strengths and how are you leveraging these capabilities to increase your market share in the region?
Amjad AlQaqa’a (AAQ): At John Crane we believe in innovation and closeness to our customers. We serve critical operations in critical industries. Being at the doorstep of our customers is a huge differentiator and part of our DNA.
We have the largest service network with over 200 facilities and offices in more than 50 countries. Our core brand strengths are technical expertise, quick response, focusing and driving reliability and partnering with our customers via strategic alliances.
LG: What industry sectors does John Crane operate in?
AAQ: John Crane touches the lives of every human on the earth, supporting Energy and Process industries sectors. Wherever there is a rotating equipment John Crane is present.
LG: How significant is the Middle East for John Crane?
AAQ: Middle East is strategic player in the world’s energy markets, and it remains one of the key regions for John Crane.
LG: How extensive are your current operations in the region?
AAQ: John Crane operates in more than 50 countries around the world, our focus remains on serving our customers and providing them with the highest quality products and services to meet their mission-critical operational challenges,
LG: Recently, John Crane made major forays and progress in Saudi Arabia. Tell us more. How significant is the Kingdom for your company?
AAQ: The Kingdom of Saud Arabia is a major player in the energy sector globally and the largest market in the region. John Crane released the strategic importance of this key market and operating in the Kingdom for more than four decades.
John Crane has invested heavily in the Kingdom over the past years and is always striving to part of the Kingdom’s vision and success. We proudly have three facilities in the Kingdom including a manufacturing facility located at our headquarters in Dammam.
We are focused on developing the local talents, w currently has 67% Saudization including both males and females, serving in various levels from the shop floor to the highest management levels.
We are actively contributing to transfer the knowledge through specialized trainings to both our customers and employees. We actively supporting the local content initiative and supporting in developing the local supply chain in addition what was mentioned above.
LG: Recently John Crane introduced a major and key breakthrough in the versatile next-generation Coaxial seal. More specifically, the signature type 93AX Coaxial Separation Seal reduces nitrogen consumption by up to 80% compared to conventional radial design. Explain.
AAQ: John Crane commitment to innovation and sustainability is unmatched. The 93AX Coaxial Separation Seal is one of our latest additions to our product portfolio to cater for that.
The Type 93AX Coaxial Separation seal is the next generation of separation sealing, which is Engineered for success by reducing risk, Downtime and enhancing efficiency.
The Type 93AX Coaxial Separation Seal is specifically designed and engineered to create a safer, more reliable and more efficient dry gas sealing solution.
Designed based on customer feedback and teams on the ground for measurable business impact. It provides up to 80% reduction in nitrogen consumption versus the conventual separation seals, reduces emissions, and has less operational wear and tear. The Type 93AX Coaxial Seal is designed to work, even in the event of multiple failure scenarios (Standard operations, separation gas failure and Dry Gas seal failure).
