Richard Waind returns as CEO
betterhomes, Dubai’s longest-standing independent real estate brokerage, has appointed Richard Waind as Chief Executive Officer with a clear focus on technology, luxury growth, people and closer integration across Censor’s group of companies, according to a press statement.
Waind previously served as Managing Director and CEO of betterhomes from 2017 to 2025, having first joined the company as Director of Brokerage before rising to Group Managing Director and later CEO, the Cencorp Group.
“I’m hoping that stepping back in day-to-day with betterhomes, we’re really going to be able to leverage the group better to provide a seamless experience for all our customers,” said Waind on his appointment.
Pivotal time
Waind returns as CEO at a pivotal time for the business and the wider Dubai real estate market having led betterhomes through two prior market downturns, in 2017–18, and during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“My focus over the coming months is clear: accelerating our technology investment to give our brokers a genuine competitive edge, building further on the strong foundations we have laid in the luxury segment through PRIME by betterhomes, and above all, continuing to be the best place in the UAE to start or grow a career in real estate,” concluded Waind.
