Aston Martin has introduced the new DBX GT; a new interpretation of the marques acclaimed SUV that blends ultra-luxury craftsmanship, refined comfort and effortless performance.
Expanding the breadth of choice in the DBX range with the highest levels of luxury, comfort and refinement without any sacrifice in performance, DBX GT finds a new harmony where presence, sophistication and enhanced daily driveability come to the fore, while enjoying the same on-demand dynamic capability for which the DBX is renowned.
“DBX GT is aimed at customers who prefer assured elegance over sporting aggression and demand a higher degree of luxury. By refining the visual drama and elevating the interior with new elements of craftsmanship, the DBX GT delivers a true ultra-luxury experience; one which comes with no sacrifice in performance,” asserted Adrian Hallmark, CEO, Aston Martin.
Comprehensive exterior changes
Visually the DBX GT is distinguished by comprehensive exterior changes which emphasise the renowned form and proportions of Aston Martin’s acclaimed SUV. Where DBX S expresses sporting prowess through assertive features, DBX GT delivers quiet luxury and elegance, through luxury detailing and high-quality materials and finishes.
Moving to the flanks, DBX GT features a two-piece metal side strake. Distinguished by contrasting polished and satin dual finish inspired by techniques used in traditional watchmaking, this new treatment of an iconic Aston Martin design element accentuates the DBX’s sculptural detailing.
“With DBX GT we have taken a more discreet approach. One which downplays its outright performance and instead exudes a quiet charisma. Elegantly understated, yet safe in the knowledge it possesses the same performance and class-leading dynamics expected of a DBX,” assured Marek Reichman, EVP & Chief Creative Officer, Aston Martin.
From inception, DBX has delivered a handcrafted, luxurious interior design underpinned by everyday utility and intuitive ergonomics. Blending craftsmanship through functionality, it combines the commanding view of an SUV with the cocooning feel of a sports car.
Tactile expressions
DBX GT interior introduces tactile expressions of quality, where material selection, precision and execution meet to create a luxurious interior. Anodised metal drive mode rotary controller and secondary switchgear provide a jewellery quality finish.
The choice of GT-specific monotone, duotone and tritone upholstery colour combinations are embellished by intricate panels of quilting and perforation, plus complex embroidery stitching in a pattern unique for DBX GT.
Comfort continues beyond the seats, with the prioritisation of cabin ambience and noise performance to complement the new interior design. This has been achieved through targeted improvements throughout the body structure, alongside meticulous attention to cabin sealing to minimise the transmission of unwanted sound from road, wind and traffic noise.
Articulation index
The measurable result is a 13% improvement in ‘Articulation Index’ – the automotive industry score of how easy it is to hold a conversation on the move. Whether chatting with passengers, making a telephone call, or enjoying the Bower & Wilkins audio system, the DBX GT provides a quieter, more relaxing, more luxurious cabin environment.
“The challenge with DBX GT was achieving meaningful improvements in comfort and refinement in everyday use cases, but keeping the same class-leading reserves of performance and handling we have achieved with the DBX S. This was delivered via a combination of small but significant hardware upgrades together with a targeted suite of calibration changes to the chassis and powertrain,” explained Ian Hoban, Chief Technology Officer, Aston Martin.
