The tyre manufacturer has also re-engineered its tread depth technology
Goodyear unveiled advancements to its Goodyear CheckPoint tyre management solution, making it even more supportive for transport fleets and dealers who desire to leverage their service level.
These enhancements are designed to help optimize tyre and vehicle maintenance further, reduce downtime, and increase overall fleet performance.
The Goodyear CheckPoint is a yard-based drive-over tyre inspection system that quickly reads tyre conditions and vehicle parameters. Utilizing a high-tech ground-based plate equipped with specialized sensors and cameras, the system automatically measures and analyzes tyre tread depth and tyre pressure in seconds.
Easier maintenance
The updated Goodyear CheckPoint system includes a new modular tread depth sensor design, allowing for easier maintenance and servicing of each laser and camera unit through a plug-and-play setup.
Goodyear has also re-engineered its tread depth technology with advanced lasers and cameras to provide enhanced tread depth recognition. The upgraded system captures much more images with improved illumination, making it more precise and allowing for better identification of the tyre’s actual condition, even in complex tread designs.
These new technology upgrades have been specifically designed to be compatible with the majority of existing versions of the Goodyear CheckPoint.
Advancing tyre technology
“Goodyear remains committed to advancing tyre technology and providing innovative solutions that enhance fleet operations,” stated Piotr Czyżyk, Managing Director, Fleet Mobility EMEA, Goodyear. “The latest improvements to the Goodyear CheckPoint are a testament to our dedication to helping fleets achieve greater efficiency, safety, and sustainability,” he added.
“The product updates are not limited to hardware, but also a software redesign that will bring a lot of innovation in the future to enhance the customer experience,” remarked Patricia Azzoni, Product Manager, Goodyear.
