Emtelle, a leading global manufacturer of fibre-optic and microduct solutions, recently announced the opening of its new US$ 50mn global innovation and manufacturing facility in KEZAD Area A (KEZAD Al Ma’mourah).
The sprawling 48,000sqm facility marks a significant milestone in Emtelle’s expansion within the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, further strengthening the company’s commitment to providing high-performance telecom infrastructure solutions to the global market.
Located strategically in KEZAD, the facility is a Build-to-Suit solution developed by KEZAD specifically for Emtelle, which will enable the company to serve the increasing demand for high-speed internet and telecom infrastructure in the region and around the world.

This advanced hub will produce a full range of passive telecommunication network solutions, including microduct tube bundles and award-winning pre-connectorised fibre solutions, ensuring faster delivery, increased production capacity, and streamlined service to customers across the MENA region.

LogisticsGulf.com (LG): Congratulations on the marking this milestone in Emtelle’s history with the inauguration of the brand-new sprawling manufacturing facility in KEZAD. How significant is the launch ceremony, and what are the implications for Emtelle both in revenue and capacity?
Tony Rodgers (TR): The inauguration of our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in KEZAD is a landmark moment for Emtelle. This facility not only expands our production capacity significantly but also positions us strategically to meet growing regional demand. In terms of revenue, this new plant will play a vital role in enhancing customer service, enabling faster and more efficient delivery of improved products.
It reflects the company’s commitment to innovation and long-term investment in the Middle East, ensuring that customer needs are met and supported for future growth.
LG: Why did Emtelle pick KEZAD as the location for this plant?
TR: KEZAD stood out for its exceptional infrastructure, connectivity, and business-friendly environment. Its proximity to key markets across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia aligns perfectly with our ambition to establish a stronger regional presence. Moreover, KEZAD offers seamless logistics solutions and robust support for manufacturing operations, making it an ideal partner for our growth.
The UAE launched its industrial strategy which we aim to support through fully integrating with KEZAD and a local UAE supply chain.
LG: What industrial sectors does Emtelle serve?
TR: Emtelle serves multiple sectors, including telecommunications, power, rail, data centres, defence, and broadcast markets. The company’s fibre-optic and micro-duct solutions are integral to the development of high-speed internet infrastructure, smart cities, connected communities, and secure communications for specialised sectors.
This diversified approach enables Emtelle to provide tailored solutions across a range of industries, meeting the needs of both public and private sector clients globally.
It is also our intention to project the UAE as a hub for exports and high-quality high value manufacturing.
LG: How important is sustainability for Emtelle, and briefly, what is your sustainability vision?
TR: Sustainability is integral to Emtelle’s ethos. Our vision is to create solutions that not only meet the needs of today but also ensure a greener tomorrow. This includes investing in energy-efficient manufacturing processes, using recyclable materials, and reducing waste across our operations.
Our first initiative since moving to KEZAD has been installing high-yield solar panels across the rooftop, ensuring a substantial portion of our electricity comes directly from renewable sources. By combining solar and wind energy, we’re solidifying our environmental commitment and contributing to a circular economy, all while supporting our customers’ sustainability objectives.
LG: What are the challenges and opportunities for Emtelle in the short and long terms?
TR: The opportunities are endless in using the UAE as an export hub globally.
In the short term, meeting the increasing demand for high-quality fibre and network solutions poses a logistical and operational challenge, but our new facility in KEZAD positions us well to address this. Long term, opportunities lie in scaling our production capabilities to align with global advancements in connectivity and smart infrastructure.
While geopolitical and economic uncertainties remain challenges, our focus on innovation and partnerships will help us stay resilient and adaptable.
LG: What are your expansion plans for the region?
TR: The Middle East is a key growth area for Emtelle, and the KEZAD facility is just the beginning. We aim to deepen our market presence through partnerships and by leveraging the facility’s strategic location to serve nearby regions.
In addition, we plan to introduce new product lines tailored to local needs and invest in research and development to drive innovation that benefits the region.
LG: What is your vision for Emtelle (both short and long term) going forward?
TR: Short-term, our focus is to solidify Emtelle’s position as a leader in the fibre optics and telecommunications industry within the region. This includes scaling our operations in KEZAD and delivering exceptional value to our customers.
