Seiko Epson Corporation and Epson X Investment Corporation have recently made an additional investment in Gosan Tech Co., Ltd. through a joint fund, EP-GB L.P.
Gosan Tech is a South Korean startup with inkjet technology that can be used in a variety of industrial fields, including the fabrication of OLED displays, perovskite solar cells and biomedical technology.
Founded in 2015, Gosan Tech has developed and sells inkjet systems for fabricating organic light-emitting diode (OLED) displays. Through its work in this field, it has developed an ink supply system, pressure control technology, and simulation technology that enable it to achieve excellent ink droplet uniformity and precision.
Expanding business
Gosan Tech is expanding its business in three areas: information technology, including OLED display fabrication and direct parts marking; the environment, with inkjet systems for perovskite solar cells (PSCs); and biomedical, including drug deposition, tissue engineering, and diagnostic.
This global investment aligns with UAE’s manufacturing strategy, with the nation accelerating the development of advanced industries as part of its long-term economic diversification strategy, which includes a strong focus on manufacturing, life sciences and clean energy.
Leveraging inkjet technology
By leveraging inkjet technology, Gosan Tech enables not only high-quality thin-film formation but also precise control of film thickness, materials, and design patterns, contributing to enhanced power generation performance, improved design flexibility, and more efficient use of materials.
By combining its strengths with Gosan Tech’s innovative technologies, Epson will seek to create synergies and maximize the potential of inkjet technology in these growing application areas, thereby accelerating the real-world implementation of new technologies, a press statement concluded.
