The team included Israeli representatives from the finance, space, tourism and culture sectors
A US-Israeli delegation led by White House Senior Adviser Jared Kushner recently visited the UAE.
The visit followed the announcement of the ‘Abraham Accord’ on August 13 to normalize relations between the UAE and Israel, according to an official UAE Government statement.
The delegation arrived on an El Al flight in Abu Dhabi on the first commercial flight between the UAE and Israel. The flight by the Israeli state airline to the UAE took off from the Israeli capital Tel Aviv and was allowed to fly over Saudi airspace for the first time.
The group was led by Kushner, Senior Adviser to US President Donald Trump, and included US National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien and Meir Ben-Shabbat, Head of the Israeli National Security Council.
The delegation included Israeli representatives from the investment, finance, health, space and aviation, foreign policy, diplomacy, tourism and culture sectors.
It met with representatives of UAE Government agencies and discussed ways to develop relations and promote joint action and opportunities for co-operation.
The UAE and Israel delegations held discussions over co-operation including, most recently, food and water security.
Earlier, the UAE formally ended its commercial boycott of Israel and the UAE President issued a decree to abolish the 1972 Israel Boycott Law.
