Conglomerate plans forays and expansion in the region
Trident Group, a large, US$ 1bn diversified Indian business conglomerate, in association with their UAE channel partner Alia Mohammed Trading Company, recently organised a networking conference for their business associates and customers from the UAE, GCC and the African continent.
Addressing the conference, Naveet Jindal, CEO, Sales & Marketing, Paper & Chemicals Business, Trident Limited, and leader of the visiting delegation, traced the meteoric rise and evolution of the Group since its inception in 1990.
”We are a progressive company with an impressive track record with a current documented compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 30% and have ambitions plans to further expand and consolidate our growth overseas including the Middle East. We are an eco-friendly company committed to continually lowering our carbon footprint, caring for the environment and further growing our green credentials. We also take pride in owning the world’s largest high-quality, wheat-straw based paper mill,” explained Jindal.
Green initiatives
“Reduction in agro-residue, improved air quality, harvesting rain water, improving the economic conditions of farmers and community building among other initiatives are all well integrated in our business credo and corporate social responsibility. The use of wheat straw reinforces these advantages and for every six boxes of our paper produced we save one tree,” he asserted.
The multi-award winning Trident Group currently exports around 15% of its paper products to the Middle East, Africa and other geographies whilst over 90% of its bed and linen production is exported primarily to the United States.
Key channel partner
Jindal also affirmed that the UAE constitutes a very important market for the Trident Group and the company in conjunction with its channel partner Alia Mohammed Trading Company develops and promotes Trident eco friendly copier paper notably Trident Digiprint—digital printing paper and Trident Spectra Bond—premium watermark office paper.
1981-established Alia Mohammed Trading Company is a home grown business in the UAE and exclusive channel partners to Trident Limited for this market.
“Over the past four decades, our strategy and thinking has been consistent with Dubai Government’s vision sustainability and the green economy initiative. We cherish our association with the Trident Group and look forward to crossing many milestones in our march forward,” observed Parvesh Kapoor, General Manager, Alia Mohammed Trading Company.
Jindal also recognised and presented the regional dealers and agents with citations and certificates at an awards ceremony.
Headquartered in the industrial city of Ludhiana in India’s northern Punjab state and with multiple manufacturing facilities across the country, the Trident Group, leading manufacturers and exporters, operates in five business segments: yarn, bed linen, paper, chemicals and captive power.
