The company will primarily serve high-growth cargo segments including e-commerce and express logistics
CargoCrew, leaders in global air cargo and logistics, recently entered the Middle East with the launch of its regional headquarters in Dubai, marking a major step in the company’s international expansion.
The move comes as the UAE cements its position as a leading global logistics and air cargo hub, supported by strong trade growth, expanding e-commerce, and a global hub for international connectivity across continents.
Business friendly environment
CargoCrew’s decision to establish its Middle East headquarters in Dubai reflects the city’s world-class aviation and logistics infrastructure, and business-friendly regulatory environment, making it the natural base for scalable regional cargo operations and integrated cargo solutions.
“Launching CargoCrew in the UAE is a defining milestone for our group, Dubai gives us a powerful platform to connect continents, airlines, and customers through smarter cargo solutions. Our focus is on flexibility, visibility, and long-term partnership,” stated Hakan Ikizoglu, Founder and Chairman, CargoCrew Group.
CargoCrew will primarily serve high-growth segments including e-commerce, pharmaceuticals, perishables, general cargo, project cargo, and express logistics, supported by strong partnerships with freight forwarders and shippers, the company revealed in a press communiqué.
LogisticsGulf.com recently conducted an exclusive interview with Hakan Ikizoglu to get the lowdown on the extent of the company’s operations in the Middle East and his vision for the company for the foreseeable future.
LogisticsGulf.com (LG): Provide us the brief 30-second corporate profile of CargoCrew
Hakan Ikizoglu (HI): CargoCrew is a next-generation air cargo and logistics platform that integrates airline representation (GSSA), capacity management, digital cargo intelligence, and logistics infrastructure into one unified ecosystem.
Founded in Europe and now headquartered in Dubai for the Middle East, CargoCrew connects airlines, forwarders, and shippers through a data-driven, operationally integrated model designed to scale globally.
LG: What is the range of freight and logistics services you offer clients in the region?
HI: CargoCrew provides airline representation and cargo sales, capacity and yield management, digital cargo solutions, warehousing and fulfilment partnerships, cross-border forwarding coordination, and end-to-end logistics orchestration.
The focus is on connecting these services into one operating model rather than offering isolated point solutions.
LG: Why the Middle East, and why now?
HI: The Middle East, particularly Dubai, has evolved into a global logistics command hub connecting Asia, Europe, and Africa. The region combines infrastructure scale, regulatory openness, and growth momentum in e-commerce, pharma, perishables, and project cargo.
CargoCrew entered the market at this point because customers and airlines are actively seeking integrated, digital-first partners to navigate increasingly complex trade corridors and volatile supply chains.
LG: What sets CargoCrew apart from competitors?
HI: CargoCrew differentiates itself through integration rather than scale alone. While many players excel in one part of the value chain, CargoCrew connects airline sales, capacity optimisation, logistics execution, and digital intelligence under one coordinated framework.
This allows CargoCrew to function as a strategic partner to airlines and customers rather than a transactional service provider.
LG: What business segments do you target in the Middle East?
HI: CargoCrew is focusing on high-growth and high-complexity segments such as e-commerce logistics, pharmaceuticals and life sciences, perishables, general cargo, express logistics, and project cargo. These sectors benefit most from integrated capacity management, visibility, and reliable service-level execution.
LG: What role does CargoCrew play as a GSA / GSSA?
HI: The GSSA side of CargoCrew goes beyond traditional cargo sales. The company actively manages airline networks, yield, customer mix, and route development, supported by data and digital tools. The objective is not just to sell space but to optimise network performance and build sustainable cargo flows for airline partners.
LG: What are the opportunities and challenges for CargoCrew in the Middle East going forward?
HI: The region offers strong growth potential driven by trade expansion, infrastructure investment, and regional connectivity. Key opportunities lie in developing new trade corridors, e-commerce transit hubs, and specialised cargo flows.
The main challenges include intense competition on primary lanes, operational fragmentation across markets, and the need to align multiple stakeholders into integrated value chains. CargoCrew views these challenges as opportunities to differentiate through integration and execution quality.
LG: Tell us about your global performance and outlook for the current fiscal year?
HI: Globally, CargoCrew continued its expansion across Europe and strategic partner markets in 2025, strengthening airline relationships and digital capabilities. Despite a volatile global cargo environment, the company focused on building long-term infrastructure and partnerships rather than short-term volume.
For 2026, the outlook is growth-driven, with expansion in the Middle East, deeper airline partnerships, and further rollout of our digital and operational platforms.
LG: What are your Middle East expansion plans and for Saudi Arabia and beyond?
HI: The Middle East roadmap includes scaling operations in the UAE as the regional hub, followed by selective expansion into strategic markets such as Saudi Arabia, which is clearly on the radar due to its growing logistics, manufacturing and e-commerce ambitions.
Expansion will be phased, partnership-driven and aligned with CargoCrew’s integrated operating mode.
LG: What is your vision for CargoCrew in the region for the short- and long-term futures?
HI: In the short term, the vision is to establish CargoCrew as a trusted, high-performance cargo partner for airlines and shippers in the Middle East.
In the long term, CargoCrew aims to build one of the region’s most integrated cargo platforms—connecting airlines, digital systems, logistics infrastructure and trade corridors into a scalable ecosystem that supports global cargo flows across continents.
