Technology leaders convene to explore how AI and applications are driving organizational evolution

Senior business executives and technology visionaries gathered recently in Doha to examine how organizations in Qatar can best leverage artificial intelligence (AI), integrated data, and enterprise applications to advance their strategic objectives.
The SAP Business Suite Innovation Day served as a regional platform for dialogue on how AI can accelerate national progress across key industries including energy, retail, finance, and manufacturing.
The event also delved into the emerging concept of agentic AI, referring to autonomous, goal-driven systems that move beyond traditional automation and generative models by planning and executing multi-step workflows with minimal human intervention.
Strategic capability
“Artificial intelligence is now accepted as an essential strategic capability that enables national growth and competitiveness. A new era of enterprise management is taking shape, and Qatar is already setting the pace in AI readiness,” stated Alaa Jaber, Managing Director, SAP Qatar and Fast Growth Markets.
During the event, SAP experts showcased how role-aware assistants powered by agentic AI are reshaping the way work is performed across functions. These assistants coordinate specialized Joule Agents to execute complex workflows in finance, human resources, supply chain, and customer engagement.
Interactive workshops gave participants hands-on exposure to the SAP Business Data Cloud, which enables real-time analytics and secure, zero-copy data sharing across enterprise systems and partner platforms.
Sponsors
Also represented at the event were Mannai Trading Company as the Diamond sponsor, and IBM and Microsoft as Platinum sponsors.
“As a leading player in the oil and gas sector, DOPET requires scalable systems that adapt to dynamic industry demands. SAP’s cloud-based solutions have enabled us to streamline operations and reinforce compliance across our business,” affirmed Jassim Al Mansoori, Vice Chairman & President of Al Ahed Holding, the parent company of DOPET (Doha Petroleum Construction Company).
“With our SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud implementation, we have optimized finance, inventory, procurement, and supply chain management to better control project timelines, costs, and resources across our entire business, benefitting nearly 4,000 employees,” he continued.
Representing Qatar’s industrial backbone, Abdulaziz Al Tamimi, CEO, Qatar Primary Materials Company (Al-Awalia), has been a RISE with SAP customer for the past three years. Al-Awalia has recently renewed and expanded its use of SAP SuccessFactors to include new modules for staff rostering, time and attendance, and workforce planning.
“With SAP solutions, we now have clearer visibility across our sales activities, operations, supply chain, human capital and financial activities. This helps us make timely decisions and manage our resources in a more organized way. The reliability and security of the system give us confidence that our core business processes are well supported,” Al Tamimi concluded.
