By design, the UAEGD applies to specific investment-grade products

The ‘UAE Good Delivery List’ (UAEGD) is the national benchmark that determines which gold and silver bars are accepted for settlement and trading in the UAE market.
Overseen by the UAE Ministry of Economy through the Emirates Bullion Market Committee, it was originally introduced as the Dubai Good Delivery Standard by DMCC in 2005 and later aligned with a national framework in 2021.
It sets strict requirements for gold purity, weight accuracy, financial strength, operational integrity, and responsible sourcing. In doing so, it gives banks, traders, institutions, and investors a dependable assurance that UAE-refined bullion meets a consistent, verifiable standard.
Accreditation
In 2005, it became the first refinery in the UAE to achieve Dubai Good Delivery accreditation, the standard that has since evolved into today’s UAE Good Delivery List, helping to establish the credibility of UAE-refined gold on the global stage.
By design, the UAE Good Delivery List applies to specific investment-grade products. Not every item a refinery produces falls within that defined scope. Emirates Gold’s range extends well beyond it, spanning smaller denominations, certified coins, commemorative pieces, and customised products.
Discipline
What distinguishes the company is that the discipline behind Good Delivery, the same refining and assaying precision, the same responsible-sourcing checks, and the same quality controls, is applied across its entire output, not only the products the standard formally covers.
“We decided long ago that the practices required for Good Delivery, from assay precision to responsible sourcing, should govern everything we produce, not only the bars the standard covers,” reiterated Abhijit Shah, Chief Executive Officer, Emirates Gold.
