Deal to build advanced offshore support vessels
Grandweld Shipyards, one of the UAE’s largest fully integrated shipyards serving the maritime and offshore industries, signed an agreement with Bahri Logistics, the integrated logistics business unit of Bahri, Saudi Arabia’s national shipping carrier, to build and design two advanced offshore support vessels.
The partnership combines Grandweld’s engineering and shipbuilding capabilities with Bahri Logistics’ more than 40 years of maritime, logistics and offshore operational expertise to strengthen specialised offshore service capabilities in Saudi Arabia.
Under the agreement, Grandweld will design and build the vessels to meet Bahri Logistics’ offshore operational requirements at Ras Tanura Port one of the world’s busiest energy hubs and a critical gateway for Saudi Arabia’s oil exports.
Agreement
The agreement was formalised during an official signing ceremony held at Grandweld’s office in Dubai Maritime City. The event was attended by key representatives from both companies and Grandweld Shipyards’ parent company Stanford Marine. The vessels are scheduled for delivery this year.
