Deal further strengthens economic and investment ties between the UAE and China
HH Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) and AJT Holding International Limited in Fuzhou, China, marking a new phase of industrial expansion in Ras Al Khaimah.
The agreement will see the company invest an additional US$ 50mn to expand its manufacturing operations within RAKEZ, further strengthening economic and investment ties between the UAE and China.
The MoU was signed by RAKEZ Group CEO Ramy Jallad, Jihong Chairwoman Zhuang Hao, and BMJ Chairman Ahmad Bkairat during the Ras Al Khaimah delegation’s recent visit to China.
The expansion will be undertaken through AJT Printing and Packaging FZ-LLC, a joint venture between China’s Jihong, a specialist in packaging manufacturing, and BMJ Industries, which brings an established business network across the Middle East and Africa.
New production lines
Under Phase II, AJT plans to introduce new production lines for water-based and UV inks, environment-friendly paper bags and more, while expanding its warehousing and logistics capabilities. The investment will build on the company’s existing manufacturing infrastructure, with provisions for additional industrial space to accommodate future growth.
AJT’s established operations in RAKEZ comprise integrated printing, packaging and corrugated carton manufacturing facilities, producing packaging solutions for industries including food and beverage, retail, consumer goods and logistics.
The expansion marks another milestone in RAKEZ’s efforts to attract and retain international manufacturers, reinforcing Ras Al Khaimah’s growing role as a hub for industrial investment and long-term business growth.
