Goodyear tyres have been chosen as original equipment (OE) fitments on the brand-new Audi Q6 e-tron, the German automaker’s new fully electric premium SUV. Goodyear developed its range of summer and winter tyres with a specific focus on suiting the characteristics of the Audi electric SUV, incorporating technology that reduces road noise.
Goodyear developed specific tyre specifications for each axle, allowing the performance characteristics of each to be tuned individually and resulting in excellent cornering stability and handling behaviour.
Special relationship
“Goodyear’s relationship with Audi is special in that it fosters a trust in us to develop bespoke tyres tailored to their latest models,” commented Alexandre Scharis, Goodyear Senior Technical Project Manager.
“In developing these tyres, we worked very closely with the Audi team on modelling and testing, including fundamental bead area studies which resulted in an innovative bead area design that delivers extremely consistent tyre performance,” he continued
