Move to advance Saudi Arabia’s digital infrastructure in support of the data and AI economy

Zain KSA, the leading Saudi Arabian provider of digital services, has announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with DataVolt, a global investor, developer, and operator of data centers, for a partnership to co-develop facilities across Saudi Arabia, supporting growing demand for cloud services, digital applications, and artificial intelligence.
The MoU was signed at LEAP 2026. The strategic collaboration combines Zain KSA’s capabilities in telecommunications networks and infrastructure and digital services with DataVolt’s expertise in developing and operating high-performance data centers.
The two companies aim to expand Saudi Arabia’s digital infrastructure ecosystem and strengthen its readiness for rapid growth in the data economy.
Scalable capacity
The partnership will develop flexible, scalable capacity to meet Zain KSA’s future requirements, while providing additional capacity for government entities, businesses, large enterprises, cloud service providers, digital content companies, and digital platforms. It will also deliver the computing power required to run and process advanced AI applications.
The planned data centers will be designed with a focus on energy efficiency, sustainability, resilience, and scalability. They will also feature infrastructure capable of supporting high-density computing, advanced cooling systems, and high-capacity connectivity in line with the requirements of modern cloud services and data- and AI-driven applications.
Critical link
“Data centers have become essential to the digital economy, cloud computing, and AI. They provide the critical link between communications networks and the computing capabilities that industries need to grow and innovate,” stated Eng. Saad Bin Abdulrahman AlSadhan, CEO, Zain KSA.
“Together we will develop an integrated model that delivers energy efficient, sustainable, and reliable data centers that meet the needs of enterprises and, cloud service providers,” affirmed Rajat Nanda, CEO, DataVolt.
