Maskforce initiative raises US$ 600,000 for foreign workers in Singapore
During these challenging times of need, Singapore-Based Giti Group has been working to support the global community in its fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, the company stated in a recent press release.
As part of these efforts, Giti Group / Nuri Holdings has donated one million surgical masks and SGD $100,000 (US$ 70507) in cash to the Maskforce Initiative to support foreign workers in Singapore.
The Maskforce Initiative has been created a joint effort from companies and organizations to support local efforts in Singapore. It focuses on supporting the foreign worker community, which has been very strongly affected during the on-going health crisis.
Each mask kit has been arranged to be distributed among foreign worker communities and dormitories, as well as to domestic helpers. In total, the initiative has been very successful in raising more than SGD $850,000 (US$ 600,000) in addition to more than 1.3 million masks.
“I think there will be more awareness after this episode,” commented Dr. Enki Tan, Executive Director, Giti Group/Nuri Holdings. “Many people are suffering, and we should not forget about them,” he concluded.
