The newly launched BenQ Home Cinema series meets the diverse needs of home entertainment enthusiasts

“As projection technology advances, consumers now seek versatile solutions for immersive, adaptable large-screen high-definition experiences that fit modern lifestyles,” affirmed Manish Bakshi, Managing Director, BenQ-Middle East, at a specially convened press conference in the offices of its top regional distribution partner Vital Technologies and a must-go-to Dubai destination for premium audio-video, smart home, and lifestyle tech.
“Upholding our commitment to bring directors’ authentic colours to life and drive home cinema innovation, the new BenQ Home Cinema Series meets the diverse needs of home entertainment enthusiasts ranging from beginners to sophisticated aficionados,” he continued.
On the sidelines of the Press Meet, Manish Bakshi spoke exclusively to LogisticsGulf.com on a range of aspects related to the newly launched home projectors to understand what sets these models apart, the company’s market outlook, and its long-standing legacy in gaming displays.
LogisticsGulf.com (LG): What are BenQ’s unique selling propositions for the Middle East with this new launch?
Manish Bakshi (MB): We are here today to launch three flagship home cinema darkroom projectors: the W5850, W4100i, and W2720i. These models have been designed specifically for dedicated darkroom setups, making them the best fit for authentic home cinema experiences.
When it comes to home cinema, three factors are critical: audio, video, and ambience. On the video front, where BenQ has always led, we have ensured that these models stand out.
One of the most important aspects of video is colour, and we’ve focused heavily on delivering colour accuracy. This has been achieved through what we call the colour gamut advantage. In simple terms, the higher you go on the colour gamut scale, the more vibrant and true-to-life the colours are. All three models use major UDCI (Ultra-Defined Colour Integration), a unique specification integrated into the models to ensure vivid, lifelike colour reproduction on screen.
Additionally, two of the models incorporate AI Cinema Mode, which combines hardware and software to deliver crisper, sharper, and smarter images. This feature dynamically enhances visuals, resulting in stunning on-screen clarity that truly impresses viewers.
These details—the nitty-gritties of colour accuracy and AI-powered enhancement—are the product of significant R&D investment and set our projectors apart.
LG: From these three models, what are your sales and royalty expectations for the next two to three years?
MB: We’re proud to share that in the 4K projector segment, BenQ has been the number one brand in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the Middle East since 2022. This is a leadership position we’ve maintained consistently over the last three years.
The 4K projector segment is primarily used for home entertainment, home theatre, and home cinema applications. We already dominate the first two categories with a strong lineup of models.
The new W5850, W4100i, and W2720i are aimed specifically at home cinema darkroom setups, an area where demand is growing.
To clarify the distinction:
Home entertainment works in smaller spaces like a bedroom.
Home theatre caters to a group of 3–6 viewers in a slightly larger room.
Home cinema requires a dedicated darkroom environment, often designed to host 20–25 people for a truly immersive experience.
With this launch, we are now covering the entire usage spectrum, from casual bedroom entertainment to full-scale dedicated cinemas at home. We expect these models to strengthen our leadership and extend our dominance in the 4K category further.

LG: How is BenQ approaching the fast-growing eSports and gaming display market?
MB: Gaming has been a long-standing focus for BenQ. In fact, we were the first company in the world to launch a gaming monitor back in 2011. Since then, it’s been a 14-year journey of continuous innovation.
We began with 120Hz monitors and have steadily advanced to 144Hz, 240Hz, 280Hz, 360Hz, 400Hz, and even 600Hz monitors today. This consistent progression highlights our commitment to keeping up with the evolving demands of the gaming community.
In gaming, there are two distinct segments:
Professional Gaming (eSports): Here, we have our Zowie sub-brand, which is the preferred choice of professional gamers for tournaments—whether at global, regional, national, or even smaller competitive levels. Zowie monitors are particularly popular for first-person shooter games where speed and precision are critical.
Casual Gaming: For this audience, we have another sub-brand, Mobiuz, which offers a different lineup tailored for everyday gaming enthusiasts.
Our dominance in gaming monitors remains strong, and with new models introduced every year, we continue to push boundaries and deliver the best experiences for both professional and casual gamers.
LG: How do these launches contribute to BenQ’s broader strategy in the Middle East?
MB: These three new models—W5850, W4100i, and W2720i—represent more than just product introductions. They strengthen our positioning as the leading 4K projector brand in the region. By offering tailored solutions for every scenario—home entertainment, home theatre, and home cinema, we are ensuring that customers have access to projectors that perfectly match their environment and expectations.
Our goal is to continue leading this space by combining cutting-edge R&D, technological innovation, and user-centric design to deliver truly cinematic experiences at home.
